Trescal, an independent expert in calibration services, has announced the purchase of an optical CMM from Bruker Alicona.
The Bruker Alicona µCMM will be installed in February 2022at the Trescal facility in the Netherlands (Hengelo) and will provide Trescal Benelux the possibility to expand their measurement services significantly in the field of 3D metrology.
Juul Gibcus (Trescal Hengelo) explains: “This device allows us to take contactless measurements with an unprecedented high level of accuracy of dimensions, roundness, free form and surface finish from objects with complex shapes”.
µCMM is a purely optical CMM machine used to measure extremely tight tolerances in high accuracy. Users combine advantages from tactile coordinate measuring technology and optical surface measuring technology and measure the dimension, position, shape and roughness of components with a single sensor that normally require multiple technologies. The optical CMM offers high geometric accuracy optical 3D measurements enabling the measurement of small surface details on large components and precisely determining the position of individual measurements in relation to each other. The spectrum of measurable surfaces includes all common industrial materials and composites such as plastics, PCD, CFRP, ceramics, chrome, silicon. Air-bearing axes with linear drive enable wear-free use and highly accurate, fast measurements.
CMM precision is quoted 0.8+L/600μm accuracy although the company stated this to be conservative some installations achieve under 400nm through the measuring volume. Components are manipulated in 5 axis and the data provided is true 3D.(内容转载自:Metrology.News)
